Meet Arthur!

Arthur is our new Black Moor fantail. Moonie was quite interested in him, but all he was interested in was finding some food and shelter.

New Years Day 2008

Here's some pictures taken today of our current situation in South Burlington. The snow is still coming down as I write this, and they're predicting up to 9 inches by tomorrow, when everybody has to go back to work. It's quite pleasant to be outside, even though the temperature is in the mid- to high- twenties, because the wind isn't blowing, but wait till the high pressure system gets here--winds up to 35 mph and a high of 7 degrees. How I love New England in the winter... :-(

Well, now I've done it!

Sorry, folks, the slide show is eating up most of the right column because I made it bigger than it needed to be. This blogging is getting tricky! I'm hoping that by replacing the slide show with this post, it'll move it down far enough so you can get to the other blogs that are listed.

The following posts are in reverse order. To get the true effect, you need to start at the end of the Christmas segments and go backwards. Or you can just use your imagination!

It's the calm before the storm. The house is clean, the tenderloin is roasting, the table is set, the cat is napping.

The Beginning Steps of Making a Mess

I used this recipe from AllRecipes.com
It makes 60 cookies supposedly!! I am using an Icing from the same site that I will post more about later.

Instead of sprinkles, I'm going to use crushed candy canes! MMmm! And half of the icing I'm going to use Lemon Extract so there's some variety. Good thing I have 2 Christmas meals to go to and bring stuff to!!

Makin' Christmas Cookies

This is sort of out of order because I am not very good at figuring out where Blogger is going to drop my photos. But you'll get the general idea.

The cookies were really good--we had them for supper and the last two went home with Betsy!

Round 1 of the Pre-Christmas Nor'Easter

Well, folks, here's the first round of the one-two punch. When I woke up, it was snowing to beat the band and we'd already gotten 6 or 7 inches. While I've been posting this, it's started again. More posts tomorrow, hopefully, if we still have electricity by then!
